Peri is a postpartum wellness app that helps new moms track how they are feeling and notice trends early. We take your privacy seriously, especially because the things you share with Peri are personal.

The short version: we collect only what we need to make the app work. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. Everything is stored securely, and no other user can see it.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, used to create your account and log you in. We do not collect your name unless you choose to add it.

Mood and wellness data. Your daily check-in responses, your mood and energy scores (1 to 10), your EPDS survey answers and total score over time, and the conversations you have with Peri along with the short summaries we create from them. If you save a conversation to Moments, we store that conversation so you can return to it.

Health data. With your permission, Peri reads sleep and activity data from Apple Health through Sahha. This includes things like sleep duration, sleep consistency, and movement. We only read this data. We never write to Apple Health.

Usage data. Basic information about how you use the app, such as how often you check in, so we can improve it. We do not track your location.

How we use your data

Everything we collect is used to make Peri work for you: to show your trends, generate your weekly insight, and help Peri remember context between conversations.

We do not use your data to train AI models. Peri's conversations and insights are generated using Anthropic's API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, your data is not used to train their models. Anthropic may retain data for a limited time as described in their terms, and then deletes it.

Apple Health data

Data that Peri reads from Apple Health is used only to show you your own trends inside the app. It is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with data brokers, and never stored in iCloud. You can turn off Apple Health access at any time in the Health app.

Who can see your data

Only you. Your records are protected by Row Level Security, which means no other user can access them. Our team can reach the database with admin credentials only when needed to run the service, fix a problem, or complete a deletion you request.

Sharing you control

Some features let you share your own information on purpose. You can create a report to share with your midwife, doctor, or therapist, and you can save or share a conversation from Moments. These are shared only when you choose to share them.

Third party services we use

Supabase. The secure cloud database where your data is stored. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Sahha. Reads your Apple Health data to provide sleep and activity trends. Sahha's privacy policy is available at sahha.ai.

Anthropic. Powers Peri's conversations and weekly insights. Your data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses and is handled under Anthropic's terms and privacy policy.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time from inside Peri, in settings. When you delete your account, your data is removed right away, and any copies in our backups are purged within 30 days. You can also email us to request deletion.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can also request a copy of everything we have stored about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.

Children

Peri is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

This is a beta product

Peri is currently in beta. The app is still being developed and improved based on feedback from early users like you. We are committed to improving our security and privacy practices as the product grows.

Not a medical device

Peri is a wellness tool, not a clinical product. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are concerned about your mental health, please speak with your healthcare provider. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or contact your local emergency services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Peri grows. We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
